It marches down Saguaro to Palisades and then up to La Montana where it finishes at Parkview Avenue. The Parade kicks off at 9am at El Lago and Saguaro. Several scout troops, chorus groups and community bands will also help you get into the festive spirit and the very last entry in the Parade is the Jolly Old Elf himself….Santa Clause! He ushers in the Christmas season and sends us home to be with our friends and families to make cherished memories. Car clubs show off their stuff with everything from Model T’s to Mini Cooper and motorcycle drill teams. Local Martial Arts teams give a terrific show of their unique disciplines, along with baton twirlers and gymnasts. The High School Marching Band provides some of their award winning music and dance teams bring the streets alive. The Parade is full of local groups that come out to support our Town. Thanksgiving is a time of family and friends here in Fountain Hills, and for the past 21 years, we’ve kicked off the holiday festivities with a parade that would make any New Yorker proud (okay, maybe we don’t have the Snoopy Dog on a tether!) Put your turkey in the oven and come to downtown Fountain Hills for the best Thanksgiving Parade in Arizona (alright…it’s the only one in Arizona, but who’s counting!) Tickets are available at the Zoo itself or at The Zoo is open November 28th through January 12th for Zoo Lights. There are concessions open and they also offer hot chocolate for those chilly evenings for those winter evenings. Music in Motion combines a dozen 12-foot tall floating light tubes, a 24-foot in diameter shimmering sphere and 52 trees all dancing to the beat of the music! This season there will be two different Motion Light Displays that will take you down the Yellow Brick road! Due to popularity they are bringing back “Wizards in Winter” by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Part of the display is synced to Christmas music and it makes for a magical tunnel of dancing lights as you pass through on your way around the zoo. The Phoenix Zoo is again bringing the Holidays alive in lights! The Phoenix Zoo is known for its fantastic light display that stops children and adults in their tracks as they wander the zoo. Please note that they have a receipt form which can be used for your personal income tax. Check your closets, shelves, cupboards and under the bed! Items may be brought to the Museum now from Tuesday through Saturday, 1 – 4 pm. If you can help with donations to the Mart, they are looking for household items, artwork, jewelry, Christmas and home decor and whatever else you find you cannot use, All are welcome. The Mart will be open November 18th – December 21st, Monday-Saturday 10 – 4. All proceeds from the sales go to the Museum. It will be held in the lobby of the library and museum. This year their popular Holiday Mart will be starting soon and any donations of Christmas items would be most appreciated. The Jolly Elf himself will be there to usher in Christmas on the Saturday. The gift shop has unique and special pieces that you will want to peruse on the way out.ĭuring December, guests receive FREE ADMISSION to The River of Time Museum! To celebrate the Season they have an Open House on December 6th & 7th, 1-4pm with Holiday Music, punch and cookies. Not only do they have a wonderful museum that guides you through the exhibit but they also have Docents that tell of how life really was. The River of Time Museum offers a look back in time at how the area has changed through the centuries.
